The board of the AAG Population Specialty Group (PSG) is seeking nominations for two awards: the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Research Excellence Award. Both awards will be presented at the annual meeting of the Association of American Geographers in Tampa in April 2014.
Lifetime Achievement Award: This award recognizes an eminent geographer for his or her outstanding contributions to the field of population geography through research, teaching, professional services, and mentoring.
Research Excellence Award: This award will be given to an early- or mid-career scholar for research excellence in the field of population geography, either in the form of a single piece of published work or a continuing record of high accomplishment.
Nominations should include a letter that details the accomplishments of the nominee and a short biographical sketch. Please email your nominations to Rachel Franklin, Associate Chair of the Population Specialty Group (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Upon receipt of the nominations, the board members of the Population Specialty Group will select the award recipients. The deadline for submission of nominations is October 31 2013.
