The Population Specialty Group is pleased to continue encouraging student engagement in active and original research in population geography by graduate and undergraduate students. The Student Paper Award will again be showcased at the PSG Business Meeting of the Annual Meeting of AAG. Paper submissions will also receive detailed feedback from the Committee. The specifics of the PSG Student Paper Competition are as follows:
1. Students are to submit an extended abstract of approximately 1000 words to Jamie Goodwin-White via e-mail (email@example.com) by October 31, 2012.
Final drafts of papers are due to Jamie Goodwin-White via e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) by December 12, 2012 and are to be limited in length to 30 double-spaced pages including figures, tables and references. They must be completely single-authored by the student.
2. The PSG Student Paper Award Committee will make a decision of the student paper prize, an award of $300, based on the quality of the written paper. Honorable mention prizes of $100 may also be awarded. Winners will be announced at the PSG Specialty Group Business Meeting. To be eligible for the award competitors must present the paper at the AAG in any session. Winners will also have their conference fees reimbursed.
Jamie Goodwin-White is happy to answer any further questions students have regarding submissions and the competition, and looks forward to hearing from interested students.
