The board of the AAG Population Specialty Group (PSG) is seeking nominations for two newly established awards – the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Research Excellence Award. Both awards will be presented for the first time at the annual meeting of the Association of American Geographers in Los Angeles in April 2013.
Below are brief descriptions of these awards:

PSG Research Excellence Award. This award will be given to an early- or mid-career scholar for research excellence in the field of population geography, either in the form of a single piece of published work or a continuing record of high accomplishment.
Nominations should include a letter that details the accomplishments of the nominee and a short biographical sketch. Please email your nominations to: Micheline van Riemsdijk, Vice Chair of the Population Specialty Group (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Upon receipt of the nominations, the board members of the Population Specialty Group will select the award recipients.
